Trust is an essential foundation in a relationship. If couples fail to maintain it, all else fails as well. It’s because, without it, a relationship cannot thrive and survive. It is the very thing that holds two people together. One major factor that destroys trust is doubt and insecurity. When not addressed, they can destroy a relationship.

This is when reassurance enters the picture. You need to do your part and address your partner’s insecurity without being condescending to them. But how do you effectively and respectfully reassure them? Well, here’s what you need to do.

1. Make Them Feel Loved

There are different ways to show your love to your partner and one of which is saying words of affirmation such as:

  • I love you.
  • I appreciate you.
  • I need you.
  • Everything’s better when you’re here.
  • Thank you for being the best partner.
  • I’m happy to see you.
  • I’m proud of you.
  • You look dashing.
  • I’m so lucky to have you.

Your words of affirmation let them know that they matter to you. It also makes them feel that you support and empathize with them. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to do, so I suggest you start practicing it in your daily interactions.

2. Show Romantic Gestures

Romantic gestures don’t have to be grand. For instance, you can write a love letter to your partner saying how much you love them and how happy you are because of them. If you’re not exactly expressive, you can still be romantic by making their coffee everyday, helping them make dinner, or taking them on cheap but memorable dates. No matter how small the loving acts are, they create a large impact on your partner as it reminds them how much you care and value them.

3. Prove That They Are the Only One

Many women doubt their partners because they think that there’s another person making them happy and loved. This usually occurs when their partners don’t spend quality time with them. So, if you think that your partner doubts you because of this, you must not only spend time together just by being present physically, but you also need to foster intimacy and closeness to show your authenticity to them.

4. Openly Communicate

When everything fails, perhaps it is best to sit down and talk to your partner. Be proactive in asking them about their problem and if there’s anything you can do to fix it. If you think that what they’re thinking is wrong, never dismiss their feelings and say that they’re being overdramatic. Most of the time, they have doubts because there’s something lacking in the relationship. So, make sure to address those issues and compromise with each other.

Reassurance Is Key to a Lot of Doors

Reassurance can be a little difficult to deliver, especially when you’re not used to giving it. However, as the saying goes, “nothing is difficult if one wants it,” everything will eventually fall into place if you highly value your relationship with your partner. Good luck!
