Just because you’ve dated one kind of woman, that doesn’t mean you know what it’s like to be with all of them.

Dating country girls, in particular, can be an entirely unique experience if you’ve only ever been in relationships with city girls. Not only can the place a woman grew up in influence her personality and preferences, it can also determine how she sees dating and relationships — from how she likes her men to what it takes to make her fall in love.

Country Girl Doesn’t Mean Tomboy

A common misconception that most people have about country girls is that they’re all tomboys, or at least displaying predominantly masculine traits.

While some prefer to wear trousers and boots instead of skirts and stilettos, a lot of women living in the countryside are still ladies at heart. They still want to feel cute and be wooed by someone tall, dark, and handsome.

For men dating country girls, this is important to understand so you don’t make the mistake of treating them any less than how you’d treat girls from the city. Even though country girls may be used to hard labor and the occasional roughhousing, they also need tender loving care.

Don’t Make Fun of Her Identity

From hicks to hillbillies, country people are associated with plenty of labels that are easy to use as cheap shots or jokes in poor taste.

When dating country girls, the last thing you’d want to do is join in on the mocking of all things rural, especially if you still don’t know each other all that well and if you’re not from the country yourself.

A person’s home will always be precious to them, and if you’re someone who looks down on those who don’t live in the metro, then maybe dating country girls just isn’t for you.

Country Life Isn’t for Everyone

Being in a relationship with someone who has a different lifestyle than you do can be challenging, and the first thing you need to do in order to deal with that is to accept your reality.

Men who’ve lived all their lives in the city can have a hard time dating country girls because their way of life is different. What can be normal for someone who grew up in the suburbs, for example, may take some getting used to for a person raised on a farm.

It’s tempting to show off all your skills in riding horses or chopping wood just to impress the woman you’re courting, but it’s not necessary. Dating country girls doesn’t mean you immediately have to relate to the country life.

As long as you’re willing to learn new things and respect country living, you’re on the right track.

A Country Girl Is More Than Just a Summer Fling

Unfortunately, there are city boys who treat dating country girls as a trend to try — an item to check off the list.

But a country girl is more than just a summer fling, and if you go into a relationship with that kind of mindset, especially when the two of you are not on the same page, then you’ll only be insulting her and making her expect things you never had any plans of fulfilling.

There’s nothing wrong with casual relationships, and sometimes dating country girls can be just that, but it’s also important to understand that women from the country aren’t for city boys to string along.
