“I want to date her but we are 15 years apart”

A lot of men feel this way.

After all, age gap relationships usually attract the attention of people, and may even cause a variety of reactions — some may admire the relationship while it may be disturbing to others.

Back in the day, couples with a large age gap would be subject to prejudice by society as it was not socially and culturally acceptable.

Today, a lot has changed, young people are now more open to this type of relationship and older ones are now seeing the need to have a younger partner. However, there is still a range for the age gap that society considers acceptable.

How much of an age gap is too much?

If you are 85 years old and you want to date an 18-year-old woman, that will undoubtedly furrow some brows. If the older person is at least in his or her 50s, then that would be slightly more acceptable.

People see age gaps differently. Some may think that 10 years is acceptable and others are fine with more than 20 years of age difference. It all depends on the person who is in the relationship.

From a psychological standpoint, age does not matter as couples with huge age gaps tend to have a stable connection with each other. Since older men are more mature and younger women are more submissive to older men. This may be because women see older men as wiser and more stable than men their age.

However, age matters when we are talking about the physiological aspect of the person. The common reasons that may affect the age gap would be the person’s reproductive ability and overall health which may decline along with the progression of age.

So what makes the age gap too much is when it affects how both can physically meet the needs of each other. Other factors can be worked out.

Do these relationships work in the long run?

Yes, they do. Many couples have a huge age gap and their relationships are more successful than other couples.

Study shows that at least 8% of all married heterosexual couples in Western countries have an age gap of 10 years or more.

Some couples in the United States even have more than 20 years of age difference, and the majority of them are younger women married to older men.

Why do age gap relationships work?

What most older men want is to build a family. Having a young, healthy partner that can help them in nurturing a family, especially in having children and rearing.

Meanwhile, younger women see older men as trustworthy and capable of ensuring them a good future. This is because older men are more experienced in life and most of them are already financially stable, which is one of the most important factors in building a family.

In addition, men that are in their golden years can still move around with their families and they can at least travel for family adventures. They can still spend quality time with their loved ones.

This is why, despite the age gap, couples that are in this type of relationship are happier and more satisfied. At least 74% of the women in age gap relationships feel more secure.

Dating a younger woman.

There’s a rise in the number of men in their 50s and 60s that are marrying younger women, and no one is stopping you if you wish to do the same.

If you are in your golden years today, and you want to try your luck in finding a younger woman to marry, I suggest that you try going online to look for women abroad.
